This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) defines the acceptable and prohibited uses of the Entropy IDE desktop application, web IDE, API services, and associated AI features provided by Knolink (Pty) Ltd (“Entropy”, “we”, or “us”).
By accessing or using Entropy IDE, you agree to comply with this AUP, our Terms of Service, and the respective terms of all third-party AI subprocessors and open source licenses incorporated into the software.
1. Overview & Purpose
Entropy IDE provides an intelligent, agentic development environment equipped with multi-model inference, language servers, live collaboration, and cloud development workspaces. To protect our users, infrastructure, and third-party AI networks, all users must use the software responsibly, legally, and ethically.
Customers are responsible for all prompts, source code, data inputs, and outputs generated through their accounts.
2. AI Subprocessor Policies
Entropy integrates advanced foundation models provided by several industry-leading AI infrastructure providers. As set forth in Section 2.3 of the Terms of Service, Customer usage of any AI-assisted feature (including autocomplete, chat, agentic refactoring, and code review) is explicitly conditioned upon compliance with the relevant provider policies:
Prohibits use for CBRN weapons, cyberattacks, child exploitation, and unauthorized medical advice.

4. Open Source Licensing & Compliance
Entropy IDE incorporates open source components, which are governed by their respective licenses:
Applicable to core editor runtime components, extension APIs, and toolchain harnesses. Grants permissive rights with clear patent and trademark reservations.
Applicable to certain server plugins and language runtime bridges. Source code is made available in accordance with copyleft provisions upon request.

5. Collaboration & Sharing Guidelines
When utilizing Entropy’s real-time peer-to-peer and cloud collaboration channels (LiveKit WebRTC, shared terminal sessions, and workspace co-editing):
- You must have express authority from the workspace owner to share proprietary codebases.
- Never transmit root credentials, SSH private keys, or environment secrets via unencrypted workspace chat.
- Channel audio and screen-sharing sessions are ephemeral and not recorded by Entropy servers without active participant confirmation.
6. Violations & Enforcement
